Promol expands solar energy capacity to enhance sustainability in candle production

Promol, part of the Liljeholmens Group, is proud to announce a significant expansion of its renewable energy efforts with the completion of a new solar farm. This initiative marks a critical step in our ongoing commitment to reducing our environmental footprint and leading the industry in sustainability.

The new solar installation features 1,094 solar panels covering approximately 3,000 square meters. Combined with our existing solar installation, these renewable energy sources are expected to offset 30% of the electrical energy consumption at our plant.

Aderito Ferreira, Plant Manager, emphasized the importance of this development: "By prioritizing renewable energy, Promol is not only reducing its reliance on non-renewable resources but also setting a new standard in the candle production industry. This solar expansion is a testament to our commitment to sustainability and our proactive approach to protecting the environment."

Connection to the plant’s electrical grid and the start of solar production are scheduled for September 2024. This milestone reflects Promol’s dedication to integrating renewable resources into its operations and advancing our mission to produce candles in the most environmentally responsible way possible.
